Grant J. Hallstrom, Esq.

Mr. Hallstrom founded the Business Law Center in 1999, which has grown into the full-service law firm of Hallstrom, Klein & Ward, LLP. As its managing partner, he oversees both transactional and litigation matters.

Mr. Hallstrom has dealt with bankruptcies for more than 30 years, and served as the chairman of the creditors committee for one of Orange County’s largest bankruptcies (Clothestime). Mr. Hallstrom is fluent in Spanish, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western State University College of Law, and was a member of Law Review.

J. Scott Williams, Esq.

Mr. Williams is a bankruptcy specialist with more than 35 years of experience in all aspects of business and corporate insolvency law, debtor and creditor law, trustee representation in complex business bankruptcies, federal and state court receiverships, insolvency litigation and insolvency-related transactions. He has represented debtors-in-possession, creditors, creditor committees and trustees in court-supervised reorganizations, and has guided numerous closely-held businesses through successful out of court restructurings, turn-arounds and orderly liquidations.

Mr. Williams has authored articles in the American Bankruptcy Law Journal and the California Bankruptcy Forum, and has served as a panelist, moderator and contributing author on bankruptcy continuing education programs, and as a lecturer on business insolvency and bankruptcy topics.

Mr. Williams currently serves on the Mediation Panel of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California. He is a Past-President of the Federal Bar Association, Orange County Chapter, and has served on the board of directors of the California Bankruptcy Forum, the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum and the Orange County Bar Association.

Mr. Williams received his Juris Doctor in 1983 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. From 1984 to 1985, Mr. Williams served as law clerk to the Honorable Peter M. Elliott, United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California and United States Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Ninth Circuit.

Paul J. Kurtzhall, Esq.

Mr. Kurtzhall joined the firm in 2006. He specializes in bankruptcy, collections and civil litigation. He has extensive experience with Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Indeed, bankruptcy attorneys from other firms often refer their clients to him when they need to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Mr. Kurtzhall graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Politics and a minor in Literature and received his J.D. from Pacific West College of Law graduating Magna Cum Laude.

David J. Hallstrom, Esq.

In everything David does, he believes in the power of ideas. David works to establish and safeguard the foundations of trust – mutual good faith, care, and loyalty. As a civil litigator and appellate lawyer, David wields the sword of justice to defend truth and virtue on behalf of his clients when they have been harmed by failures in those foundations of trust. David has worked in civil litigation cases across the spectrum, including family law, probate litigation, real estate disputes, and business law. David grew up in Southern California, and after more than 14 years living in such places as Brazil, Utah, Florida, and the United Kingdom, David “returned home” to California. He brings with him a broad, global perspective and a strong commitment to quality, fairness, and integrity which inform him in all his projects. In his free time, David enjoys working out, meditating, reading, surfing, and pretty much all other water-based sports.
